How many first collective agreements are represented in this amount? The first agreement of a union is by far the best time to do it properly, as previous rounds of negotiations have shown. UNBC`s current proposal provides for annual minimum wage increases of 0/1/1/1.5 / 1.5% for all FA members during the five-year agreement, in accordance with the provincial government`s mandate for economic stability. This mandate has been accepted in agreements for more than 200,000 people representing two-thirds of the BC`s public sector. As with the 2020 winter semester, students` reactions to general assessments of students in spring-summer and fall education are gathered; However, we only pass this feedback on to course directors. Feedback is not given to department heads, associate deans or deans unless you, as a course leader, give prior authorization. This is included in our agreement with the faculty association. If you become ill with Covid-19 and cannot work, you should advise your department head or dean who will be working to make arrangements to accommodate your absence. You still have access to your sick benefits, as required by the collective agreement. We also agreed with the Faculty Association that all meeting staff with appointments for the fall 2020 mandate, who contracted covid-19 after the start of their term in the fall of 2020, will continue to receive full pay and benefits for the duration of their illness or until the end of the term in the fall of 2020, depending on what happens in the first place. I would like to express our strong support for UNBC`s fight for a strong first collective agreement and a reasonable wage regime. The Brock University Faculty Association will send a cheque for 1,500 $US to support your efforts, along with other financial contributions if the strike continues. ABPPUM supports you in your fight for a collective agreement. We will send you 1,000 financial support.

We are working hard to implement the increase as quickly as possible. Given the complexity of retroactive wage processing, it will take some time and we want to ensure accuracy. We assume that all eligible academic staff will receive their retroactive pay for the first salary period in October 2020. We understand that some of you, especially those who are immunosuppressed or living with immunosuppressed people, will have concerns about return.
